A doctor’s note is not required for chiropractic coverage; however, a doctor’s referral may be needed for massage therapy coverage. Before receiving massage therapy, it is important to check with your insurance provider to see what your insurance policy covers. 

To ensure a smooth and hassle-free process, we recommend calling your insurance provider to confirm specific requirements for massage therapy coverage. This will help you understand your policy and the steps needed for reimbursement or direct billing of your services.

Personal Health Insurance

We offer direct billing services to members of the RCMP for their massage therapy and chiropractic needs. In order to avail of these services, RCMP members will need to obtain an annual doctor's prescription to avail of the massage therapy services in their healthcare plan. This prescription serves as proof of the need for massage therapy and allows us to directly bill their insurance provider for the services rendered. This process eliminates the need for members to pay out of pocket and then seek reimbursement, making it a more convenient and streamlined experience for them. 

If you would like the clinic to direct bill, please ensure to provide the following information when you arrive at your initial appointment:

•  Identification number (beginning with the letter "R")
•  Physician's name
•  Date of your doctor's referral 

With our direct billing services, RCMP members can receive the treatment they need and have the costs covered by their insurance.

RCMP Health Insurance

We are proud to offer direct billing services to our veterans. To take advantage of this benefit, Veteran Affairs Canada (VAC) members will need to obtain an annual doctor's prescription to avail of the massage therapy services under their healthcare plan. This streamlined process eliminates the need for veterans to pay out of pocket and then seek reimbursement, making it a more convenient and worry-free experience for them.

If you would like the clinic to direct bill, please ensure to provide the following information before you book your initial assessment as the provider will need to obtain authorization from the VAC Medical Authorization Centre.

•  Your name and DOB 
•  Identification number (beginning with the letter "K")
•  Physician's name
•  Date of your doctor's referral 

Our direct billing services allow veterans to receive the treatment they need and have the costs covered by their insurance.

VAC Health Insurance

Section B (Accident Benefits) is a mandatory insurance benefit in your motor vehicle insurance policy. You can receive these benefits if you were involved in a motor vehicle accident as a driver, passenger, or pedestrian, and the accident has left you with injuries that require treatment from the accident.

If you are seeking massage therapy or chiropractic care to assist with the injuries you sustained from a motor vehicle accident, please call us to book an appointment. Do not book online as we will need to obtain approval from your Section B Insurance adjuster before your initial visit.

Please ensure to provide the clinic with the following information when you call to book your appointment(s):

•  Adjuster’s name, email address, and phone number
•  Claim number
•  Date of the accident
•  Private health coverage information (if applicable)
•  Doctor's referral (required)

Please be advised that you will need a doctor's requisition following the motor vehicle accident for massage therapy and chiropractic care to be approved and financially covered by the Section B Insurance company.

Motor Vehicle Accident Benefits

Choose this service option if you're a first-time client or haven't had a massage in over 12 months at our clinic.

During your first visit, a comprehensive clinical assessment will be conducted to determine if there are any structural or mechanical injuries and/or dysfunction present. This assessment is crucial in identifying the underlying physical structures that may be causing pain or dysfunction.

The initial assessment and client interview typically require approximately 15-20 minutes of your scheduled appointment time. For instance, if you booked a 60-minute massage, then 15 minutes of that time will be allocated to the assessment. 

It is advisable to book additional time for your first visit to ensure that you receive the full hands-on treatment time that you are looking to receive. This allows for a thorough evaluation and customized treatment plan to address your specific needs effectively.

Initial Assessment + Massage (New Client)

A relaxation massage is a smooth, gentle flowing, therapeutic technique that targets the soft tissues in the superficial muscle groups. The primary aim of this approach is to alleviate pain, release tension, and reduce swelling.

This gentle technique is beneficial for addressing acute injuries, tension headaches, and physical symptoms of stress and anxiety. By promoting relaxation, it aids in relieving pain and tension, allowing the body and mind to unwind and rejuvenate.

Relaxation Massage

Deep tissue massage involves the skilled application of sustained and steady pressure to target the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues. This technique is specifically designed to reduce muscle tension, release scar tissue, and improve range of motion.

By targeting the root causes of chronic musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, deep tissue massage helps to alleviate pain and tension. The focused pressure applied during the massage works to release knots, trigger points, and tightness in the muscles, providing relief from discomfort and promoting overall physical well-being.

Deep Tissue Massage

Sports massage is a specialized technique tailored to focus on area-specific rehabilitation. This brief but effective treatment is performed with the client’s clothes on, and it is advised to wear loose-fitting and comfortable clothing. The session involves joint mobilizations, integrated stretching techniques, and basic lymphatic drainage techniques to provide consistency in training as well as prevent injury.

Through its targeted approach, sports massage aims to reduce inflammation, optimize lymphatic circulation, and support the body's innate healing processes by focusing on the affected areas.

Sports Massage

Cupping Massage is an alternative therapy technique that utilizes negative pressure to create a vacuum, which lifts the skin into plastic cups, thereby separating the fascia layers. Through this vacuum pressure, cupping therapy facilitates the breakdown of damaged tissue, promoting healing and accelerating the recovery process. 

FYI: Cupping therapy is used in conjunction with massage therapy and is used for approximately 5-15 minutes.

Prior to receiving the treatment, expectant mothers have two choices for positioning during their massage session. The first option is to lie on their side with strategically placed pillows that provide optimal support and comfort. The second option is to utilize our patented pregnancy cushion that is specifically designed to offer unparalleled support for pregnancy massage, effectively alleviating discomfort associated with breast sensitivity and lower back pain. 

Prenatal massage provides a safe and effective way to support the unique needs of pregnant women, helping them to relax and rejuvenate during this special time.

Prenatal Massage

Infant massage is a gentle and rhythmic massage technique. It is a specialized form of touch therapy designed for infants aged 0-2 years. 

Infant massage aids in relaxation and can be particularly helpful in alleviating discomfort associated with common issues like colic, gas, or teething. It may also contribute to improved circulation, digestion, and overall muscle tone. 

The calming effects of massage often extend to sleep patterns, potentially assisting in the establishment of more regular and restful sleep for the infant.

FYI: Parents/guardians are invited to join the session. Your massage therapist will provide instructions on techniques that you can practice at home with your precious little one.

Note: For first-time appointments booked for less than 30 minutes, a massage may not be included.
